As Facebook Aims at Millions of Users, Some Are Content to Sit Out - NYTimes.com:


'They’re likely more worried about the novelty factor wearing off,' Mr. Valdes said. 'That’s a continual problem that they’re solving, and there are no permanent solutions.'

Facebook needs to focus on continuing to make the site so ubiquitous and necessary that people stop questioning it... The continued gimmicks and additions that are designed to simply renew interest and addiction the site is not going to work in the long run I don't think.
